Stone Mountain Park...

About a month ago we took a trip to Atlanta.  While we were there we visited the Atlanta Aquarium (great because it had a huge variety of sea life AND it was all indoors...a definite plus on a hot summer day) and Stone Mountain Park.  I didn't get many great pictures from the aquarium because the lighting inside was dim while the tanks and exhibits in the background were brightly lit--thus producing pictures with really bad glare.  I did manage to take a few at Stone Mountain Park, which is a place I would highly recommend if you are ever in the Atlanta area, since it's a great family venue featuring activities and sights that grown ups as well as young kids enjoy.

There was a half-hour train ride that went all the way around the mountain.  Ellie acted like she was really excited to be on the train until the whistle started blowing and it began to move.  This was pretty much the uncertain expression she had on her face the whole time:

Every night the park puts on a laser/fireworks show.  We all sat on the large lawn facing the mountain (in the first picture that is shown above).  The mountain is the backdrop on which the lasers shine.  It was very cool, but unfortunately again, I couldn't get any pictures due to the darkness vs. the bright laser lights.  Hmmm, maybe it's time to upgrade the camera.  :)
